The card loads dirham credit, not a Robux number

UAE Roblox cards, whether from a shop shelf or an email, are sold in dirhams, not Robux. Redeeming one adds its value to the account as Roblox Credit, and the Robux come in a second step, when you spend that credit on one of Roblox’s fixed packages. Packages come in steps rather than a smooth scale, so two cards a few dirhams apart can buy the same Robux, and a card one dirham short of a step buys the package below it. That is the whole reason the table above exists.

The same credit also works across the rest of the Roblox store. Roblox replaced its Premium membership with Roblox Plus on 30 April 2026, and the Robux page now lists Plus plans alongside the one-off packages. For most gift buyers, though, the question is simply which card turns into the Robux number the player asked for.

Why the website gives you more Robux than the app

Since November 2024, Roblox has sold bigger Robux packages on its website than in the iPhone and Android apps, at the same price. Gift card credit can only be spent on the website, so a card always gets the bigger website package. When we opened roblox.com/upgrades/robux on 17 September 2026, all nine packages listed both figures side by side:

Note the “up to”. The bonus is a full 25% only on the 500, 1,000 and 1,500 Robux packages. The smallest, 270 Robux, gets 12.5%, and the bonus shrinks as packages grow, down to about 7% on the largest one. A price table that still quotes 400, 800 and 1,700 Robux for a gift card is showing you the app figures, which a gift card never gets.

How the dirham figures are worked out

Roblox does not publish a price list for the UAE, and its Robux page shows each visitor prices for the country they are browsing from, so we cannot give you an official dirham price for every package. We work from the two figures that do not move. Roblox’s packages sit at fixed US-dollar prices, from $2.99 up to $199.99. The dirham has been pegged at 3.6725 to the dollar since 1997, so the dollar price converts to one fixed dirham figure. We then add 5% VAT as a second case. Roblox’s Terms of Use say that outside the US and Canada, where Roblox is registered for VAT, the price shown already includes it, but we could not confirm how that applies to a UAE account, so we keep both figures. Where a card clears the package in both cases, it is safe to buy. Where it only clears one, the table flags it.

Every exact-fit card in the opening table except AED 150 clears its package with a margin of just under 4% after VAT; AED 150 has about 11% to spare on the 3,625 Robux package. That is comfortable if Roblox prices at the converted dollar figure, and tight if it rounds dirham prices upward. If you are buying for someone else and cannot check their Robux page first, the headroom column is the cautious choice: AED 45 instead of AED 40, AED 70 instead of AED 60, AED 90 instead of AED 80. The extra credit stays on the account.

Four AED amounts that look right and are not

The UAE Roblox range includes some odd amounts, and four of them sit right on the edge of a package. We sell all four, so here is exactly what each one does.

AED 36 and AED 183: short even before VAT

AED 36 looks as if it was built for the 1,000 Robux package, but that package converts to AED 36.69 before any tax, so the card falls AED 0.69 short. It buys 500 Robux with about AED 17 left, and that leftover now covers a 270 Robux package too. Skip the 500 package and buy three 270s instead and the card reaches 810 Robux. AED 183 does the same thing one step up: the 5,250 Robux package converts to AED 183.59, so the card misses by AED 0.59. Since Roblox added the 3,625 Robux package, it no longer drops all the way to 2,000 Robux: it buys 3,625 and leaves AED 48 to AED 55. AED 150 buys the same package for 33 dirhams less.

AED 75 and AED 750: it depends on VAT

AED 75 clears the 2,000 Robux package at the plain dollar conversion (AED 73.41) but not with 5% VAT added (AED 77.08). If VAT applies, the card now buys the new 1,500 Robux package and leaves AED 17.20. AED 750 has the same problem at the top of the range: it covers 24,000 Robux at AED 734.46 but not at AED 771.19, and in the VAT case it falls back to 11,000 Robux with AED 364 left over. That leftover is not lost, since it buys 5,250 and 3,625 Robux packages on top, but AED 800 gets the single 24,000 package with no guesswork.

The shop-shelf amounts: AED 50, 100 and 500

• AED 50 buys 1,000 Robux and leaves AED 11.48 to AED 13.31. At the plain conversion that leftover covers a 270 Robux package; with VAT it misses by five fils. AED 40 buys the same 1,000 Robux for ten dirhams less, and AED 60 reaches 1,500.
• AED 100 buys 2,000 Robux and leaves AED 22.92 to AED 26.59, enough for one or two 270 Robux packages. AED 80 buys the same 2,000 Robux for twenty dirhams less, and AED 150 reaches the new 3,625 package.
• AED 500 buys 11,000 Robux and leaves AED 114 to AED 133. Without VAT that leftover covers the new 3,625 Robux package; with VAT it falls AED 20.50 short. AED 400 gets the same 11,000 Robux, and 24,000 Robux needs an AED 800 card.
• AED 20 and AED 200 are the two standard retail amounts that land cleanly on a package.

Redeeming a Roblox gift card on a UAE account

1. Use a browser, not the app
   Sign in at roblox.com in a web browser on a phone, tablet or computer. Roblox Credit cannot be seen or spent inside the mobile or console apps, so doing this in the app is the most common reason a card “disappears”.
2. Check the account is set to the UAE
   Roblox Support says a card from any country redeems on any account, with the value converted to the account’s currency. The dirham figures here only hold on an account set to the UAE, and credit cannot be moved to a different account afterwards, so check before redeeming.
3. Enter the code at roblox.com/redeem
   The card’s value appears as Roblox Credit straight away, together with the free virtual item Roblox gives with every gift card redemption.
4. Spend the credit at roblox.com/upgrades/robux
   Pick the package from the table above and pay with Roblox Credit, or use Get Robux on the redeem page, which pre-selects the largest package your credit covers. Once they are bought, the Robux work everywhere, in the app, on console and in every game. A leftover too small for any package can be turned into Robux with the Convert Credit to Robux button.

Roblox in the UAE: chat is off, Robux still work

Roblox is not banned in the UAE. In early September 2025, after talks with the Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority (TDRA), Roblox switched off in-game text and voice chat for UAE accounts. Reporting by The National in April 2026 and a Roblox developer-forum thread in August 2026 both describe chat as still off, and Roblox has not given a date for bringing it back. Everything else still works: games, the avatar shop, Robux and gift cards.

What that means if you are buying for a child

• Buying Robux does not unlock chat. No card, package or subscription changes the UAE chat setting, so ignore any seller that claims otherwise.
• VPN “fixes” for chat break Roblox’s rules and put the account at risk. A banned account keeps nothing, including Robux bought with gift cards.
• In April 2026 Roblox announced age-based accounts, Roblox Kids for ages 5–8 and Roblox Select for ages 9–15, with face-based age estimation or ID checks to unlock full features.
• A gift card is still the simplest way to control spending, because the account never has a bank card saved on it.
