The Phantom Blade Zero release date is Thursday 29 October 2026 on PlayStation 5 and PC, and the PlayStation Store is the only storefront publishing an hour: 02:00 UTC. That is still the evening of Wednesday 28 October across the Americas. There are two editions, $59.99 and $69.99, the pre-order bonus is the same on all three stores, and no Xbox version has been announced.

Phantom Blade Zero release date and unlock time

S-GAME announced 29 October 2026 on 11 August, the day pre-orders opened, after moving the game back from its original 9 September date. When we opened all three storefronts on 21 September, every one of them agreed on the day. Only Sony agreed to a time. Steam shows a countdown — “this game plans to unlock in approximately 5 weeks” — and no hour anywhere on the page. The Epic Games Store prints a bare “Available 10/29/26” in its product sidebar. The official S-GAME site carries the date and nothing else.

What 02:00 UTC means where you live

Converted from the 02:00 UTC stamp on the PlayStation Store listing for 29 October 2026. Note the asymmetry: European summer time ended on 25 October, but North American daylight time runs until 1 November, so the gap between London and New York is six hours on this date, not five.

Why some pages say 28 October

You will find release-date pages, and aggregator entries, insisting the game arrives on 28 October. They are not simply wrong, and here is where the confusion comes from. Steam’s public catalogue data returns “Oct 28, 2026” for this app, because that data is rendered against a United States reference clock. The Steam store page you actually look at renders the same underlying moment in your browser’s time zone — from Central European Time it says “Coming Oct 29, 2026”. One timestamp, two renderings, and a lot of pages copying whichever one they hit first.

The $10 question
The whole game
Two cosmetics, an artbook and an OST

What is not on sale is as informative as what is. There is no Collector’s Edition, no Ultimate tier, no season pass, and no paid early-access window — the thing that has quietly become standard in $70 action launches. Both editions unlock at the same instant, so the Deluxe is asking exactly one question: are two outfits, an artbook and a soundtrack worth ten dollars to you? On a single-player game you will finish once, that is a genuine maybe rather than an obvious yes.

What it costs outside the United States

Pre-purchase prices read from the Steam listing on 21 September 2026 by switching the store region. The Epic Games Store matched Steam in every region we checked, and the PlayStation Store matched on the US dollar price.
RegionStandardDeluxeGap
United States$59.99$69.99$10.00
United Kingdom£49.99£59.99£10.00
Eurozone€59.99€69.99€10.00
Poland299,00 zł349,00 zł50,00 zł
Japan¥8,580¥9,980¥1,400
BrazilR$229.90R$279.90R$50.00

The UK is the outlier worth noticing: £49.99 against $59.99 and €59.99 means British buyers are paying roughly a tenth less than the eurozone once you convert, which is unusual in a year when most publishers have quietly pushed sterling pricing up to parity. Brazil and Japan both get meaningful regional discounts. None of this is something you can arbitrage — Steam, Epic and the PlayStation Store all price against the account’s own country, not the wallet code you happen to be holding, a rule we go through in our guide to gift card regions and country locks.

The pre-order bonus is identical everywhere

Pre-ordering any edition, on any of the three stores, unlocks two items early: an accessory called Treasure Basin, which raises the Remnant Dust drop rate by 10%, and an outfit called Legacy. There is no storefront-exclusive variant and no tiering — the Deluxe does not get a better version of it. And S-GAME has been unusually candid about what the bonus actually is.

The above content can also be obtained through in-game progression.

S-GAME Publishing, Pre-order terms, Phantom Blade Zero PlayStation Store listing

In other words, the pre-order bonus is a head start, not content you lose by waiting. That matters if you were pre-ordering out of fear of missing out — on this game you are only buying the items early. What you are really deciding is whether to lock in today’s price and whether you want the storefront-specific extra, which is the part almost nobody covers.

Where to buy it: the Epic bonus nobody mentions

All three storefronts charge the same $59.99. Only one of them hands you something outside the game for it. Buying any edition of Phantom Blade Zero on the Epic Games Store grants the Soul Outfit and the Sanguine Pickaxe and Back Bling in Fortnite, as a gift with purchase — and Epic’s own support page spells out the terms in a way that is worth reading before you choose a store.

  • The cosmetics are granted automatically to your Fortnite account, and the purchase date does not affect eligibility — grants began on 11 August 2026 at 10:00 PM ET.
  • The same items go on sale separately in the Fortnite Shop from 29 October at 8:00 PM ET to 5 November at 7:00 PM ET, so the bonus has a real cash price attached to it at launch.
  • If you already own the Soul Outfit and the Sanguine set, you get a one-time grant of 1,600 V-Bucks in Fortnite instead.
  • Gift the game to a friend through Epic and the cosmetics go to your friend, not to you.
  • Epic also pays 5% back in Epic Rewards on the purchase, and lists the pre-purchase as self-refundable.

If you have no interest in Fortnite, that bonus is worth nothing to you and Steam’s feature set — achievements, Cloud saves, Family Sharing, and four more subtitle languages than Epic lists — is the better deal. If you do play, Epic is handing you a skin set and a pickaxe for buying a game you were going to buy anyway. Our guide to buying and redeeming V-Bucks covers what the V-Bucks fallback is actually worth in practice, and where to activate a PC game key explains how Epic keys behave if you buy from a third party rather than direct.

Phantom Blade Zero PC requirements

Phantom Blade Zero system requirements table from Steam showing minimum specs of Windows 10 or 11, Intel Core i7-8700K or Ryzen 5 3600, 16 GB RAM and a GTX 1660 6GB, and recommended specs of an i5-10600K or Ryzen 5 5600X with an RTX 3060 Ti 8GB
Screenshot: the requirements table on the Phantom Blade Zero Steam page, taken 21 September 2026 by Virtwave. The Epic Games Store listing carries the same figures.

Two things stand out. First, the minimum CPU is an Intel Core i7-8700K while the recommended CPU is an i5-10600K — a lower model number in the higher tier, which reads like a mistake and is not: the 10600K is the newer and faster chip. Second, both tiers ask for 16 GB of RAM, so memory is a hard floor rather than something you scale. The GPU is where the money goes: a GTX 1660 6GB for 1080p/30, an RTX 3060 Ti 8GB for 1440p/60.

Read the additional notes, though, because they change what those numbers mean. Both targets are quoted “with upscaling enabled” — that is DLSS or FSR doing part of the work, not native rendering. A 1660 at 1080p/30 with upscaling on is a considerably more modest promise than a 1660 at 1080p/30. Plan one tier above whatever you were aiming at.

The SSD line is not a suggestion

“SSD installation required” appears in both the minimum and the recommended column. Unreal Engine 5 games that say this generally mean it — a mechanical drive produces texture pop-in and traversal stutter rather than a polite warning. If you are not certain which of your drives is solid state, Windows will tell you in about fifteen seconds, and it is worth checking before launch week rather than during it.

Win + R → type dfrgui → Enter

Optimize Drives window, "Media type" column:
Solid state drive → fine, install here
Hard disk drive → not supported, move the install

No published download size yet — leave 60-80 GB free to be safe.

Xbox, Game Pass, PS Plus and preload

There is no Xbox version. S-GAME lists exactly three places to buy the game — the PlayStation Store, Steam and the Epic Games Store — and has announced nothing for Xbox Series X|S, so an Xbox player has no way to play this at launch and no announced date to wait for. It is not on Game Pass and it is not a PS Plus title; it is a full-price purchase on every platform it exists on. Because it launches on PS5 as a digital-only product, there is no disc edition to buy either, which follows Sony’s wider move away from physical production.

Preload is the open question. On 21 September, none of the three storefronts mentioned pre-installation and S-GAME has not published a download size. Console preloads typically open 48 hours out and Steam pre-loads land when the developer flips the switch, often a day or two before. We will update this page the moment a size or a preload date appears on any of the three listings.

The fake Phantom Blade Zero on Steam

Search Steam for the game and the real listing is not the only thing you get. On 21 September the second result we saw was a free item called “Late Ming Dynasty: The Realm of Abyss Phantom Blade Zero”. It is not a demo, not a companion app and nothing to do with S-GAME. It is a free DLC for an $8.99 backrooms horror game called Late Ming Dynasty, published by a developer trading as “authority”, with the words “Phantom Blade Zero” bolted onto the end of the title so it surfaces in the search.

When does Phantom Blade Zero come out?
Phantom Blade Zero releases on Thursday 29 October 2026 on PlayStation 5, Steam and the Epic Games Store. It was originally scheduled for 9 September 2026 and S-GAME moved it back in June 2026 to spend longer on quality.
What time does Phantom Blade Zero unlock?
The PlayStation Store lists the unlock at 02:00 UTC on 29 October 2026. That is 7:00 PM Pacific and 10:00 PM Eastern on Wednesday 28 October, 2:00 AM in the UK and 3:00 AM in central Europe on the 29th. Steam and the Epic Games Store publish the date but not an hour.
Is Phantom Blade Zero coming to Xbox?
No Xbox version has been announced. The game is listed only for PlayStation 5, Steam and the Epic Games Store, and S-GAME has published no Xbox release date or plans.
Is the Phantom Blade Zero Digital Deluxe Edition worth it?
The Deluxe costs $10 more and adds two exclusive outfits — Wulin Legend and Blood-Steel Form — plus a digital artbook and the soundtrack. It gives you no early access and no gameplay advantage, so it is worth it only if cosmetics and an OST matter to you. The pre-order bonus is included in both editions.
Can you pre-load Phantom Blade Zero?
Not yet. As of 21 September 2026 none of the three storefronts has announced a preload date or published a download size. Console preloads usually open around 48 hours before launch, so expect any announcement in the last week of October.
Is Phantom Blade Zero on Game Pass or PS Plus?
No. It is a full-price purchase at $59.99 on every platform it is sold on, and there is no Xbox version, so Game Pass does not apply at all. It is not part of the PS Plus Game Catalog either.

Paying for it without a card on file

If you would rather not put a bank card into a storefront — or you are buying this for someone else — wallet credit does the job on all three stores. Steam is the straightforward one: top the wallet up, then pre-purchase from the balance. The awkward part is that wallet codes come in round numbers and the game does not. In our own catalogue the US Steam ladder runs $10, $25, $50 and $75 — nothing lands on $59.99, so either stack a $50 and a $10, or take the $75 card and leave the change against the launch-window sales. Codes redeem into the wallet in seconds; our guide to activating a product key on Steam covers the redemption screen if you have not used one before.

On PS5 the same logic applies through PlayStation wallet credit, and if you are looking for something to play on a PS5 while you wait, Stellar Blade Complete Edition is the closest thing in our catalogue — another PS5 Pro-enhanced, single-player action game with a combat system people argue about in the same terms. And if you change your mind after pre-ordering, our Steam refund walkthrough has the exact steps.

  • Confirm which date applies to you: 28 October in the Americas, 29 October everywhere else.
  • Decide Standard or Deluxe before launch week — the $10 gap buys cosmetics, not early access.
  • If you play Fortnite, buy on the Epic Games Store; if you do not, buy on Steam.
  • Check that your game drive is an SSD, and clear 60–80 GB while the size is still unpublished.
  • Pre-order on any store to get Treasure Basin and the Legacy outfit early — both are obtainable in-game anyway.
  • Top up the wallet a day ahead, not at 2am on unlock night.
  • Check the publisher line reads S-GAME Publishing before you buy anything with this name on it.

Epic Games Store

9.0/10
Best for: PC players who also play Fortnite

Same $59.99 as everywhere else, plus a Fortnite cosmetic set worth real money at launch and 5% back in Epic Rewards. The best-value PC option unless you specifically want Steam features.

Pros
  • Soul Outfit and Sanguine Pickaxe & Back Bling in Fortnite, or 1,600 V-Bucks if you own them
  • 5% back in Epic Rewards
  • Self-refundable pre-purchase
Cons
  • No achievements, no Cloud saves, no Family Sharing
  • Lists fewer subtitle languages than Steam
  • Bonus is worthless if you do not play Fortnite

Steam

8.0/10
Best for: PC players who want the game in their Steam library

No launch bonus, but the strongest feature set and the clearest refund position — the 14-day window does not even begin until the game releases. The default choice for most PC buyers.

Pros
  • Achievements, Steam Cloud, Family Sharing, full controller support
  • Subtitles in 15 languages, including Thai, Vietnamese and Latin American Spanish
  • Refund clock starts at release, not at purchase
Cons
  • No store-specific bonus at all
  • Publishes no unlock time, only a countdown

PlayStation Store

7.0/10
Best for: PS5 owners — it is the only console option

The only way to play this on a console, and the only listing that tells you when it actually unlocks. PS5 Pro Enhanced, digital only, no disc edition.

Pros
  • PS5 Pro Enhanced
  • The only storefront publishing an unlock time
  • Cancellable before release if you pre-ordered 14+ days out
Cons
  • Digital only — no physical edition
  • No store-specific bonus
  • Refund rights end as soon as you start downloading

Sources & how we checked this

Every figure on this page was read off a primary source on 21 September 2026: the three storefront listings were opened directly, the US prices were confirmed by setting the Steam store region to the United States, and the regional prices were read from Steam by switching regions. The 02:00 UTC unlock is our conversion of the PlayStation Store’s own timestamp, which Sony renders in the viewer’s time zone — ours showed 03:00 AM GMT+1 for 29 October, and central Europe is on GMT+1 by that date because European summer time ends on 25 October.

We do not have Phantom Blade Zero in the Virtwave catalogue; the store links on this page are to wallet codes and to games we do stock. How we work is set out in our editorial policy.
