The Kingdom Hearts Collection release date is Thursday 8 October 2026, and anyone who pre-orders by 11:59 PM on 7 October gets 48 hours of early access — which is why the PlayStation and Xbox listings both print 6 October instead. It costs $74.99 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC through the Microsoft Store, and there is only one edition. The one thing no storefront will tell you: on Steam, the same three collections have been sold together since 2024 as KINGDOM HEARTS INTEGRUM MASTERPIECE, and it is $29.99 until 1 October.
So this is really two questions, not one. If you are on a Nintendo Switch 2, a PS5 or an Xbox Series X|S, the new bundle is the only way to get these games running natively on your console, and $74.99 is a fair number for roughly ten games. If you are on PC, the new bundle is a worse deal than the one already sitting on Steam — by $45, for the next nine days. Below is every figure we could verify from Square Enix’s own collection page and the four storefronts, with the gaps we could not fill marked as gaps.

Kingdom Hearts Collection release date and unlock time
Three of the four listings disagree about the date, and all three are right. Nintendo says “Releases 10/8/26”. Xbox prints a release date of 10/6/2026. The PlayStation Store goes furthest and stamps the product header 10/6/2026 06:00 AM GMT+2, which is 04:00 UTC on Tuesday 6 October. They are describing the same launch from opposite ends of the early-access window: 6 October is when pre-orders unlock, 8 October is when everyone else can play.
What the 48-hour early access actually means
The wording is identical on the PlayStation and Xbox listings: players who pre-order by 11:59 PM on 7 October 2026 will have 48 hours of early access. Read literally, that is a deadline you can still meet after early access has already started, so the practical rule is simpler than it sounds — pre-order at any point before 7 October ends and you play from 6 October. Pre-order on the 7th and you get whatever is left of the window. Nintendo does not mention early access on its Collection page at all; it advertises pre-load instead, which is a different benefit and worth having on a download this size.

What’s included in Kingdom Hearts Collection [I~III]
- KINGDOM HEARTS -HD 1.5+2.5 ReMIX- — six titles, from the original game through Birth by Sleep.
- KINGDOM HEARTS HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue — Dream Drop Distance HD, the χ Back Cover movie, and 0.2 Birth by Sleep – A fragmentary passage –.
- KINGDOM HEARTS III + Re Mind (DLC) — the finale of the Xehanort saga plus its story expansion.
- A platform-exclusive Keyblade, which differs on every storefront (see below).
- Nothing else. There is no Deluxe, no Ultimate, no season pass and no soundtrack tier — the $74.99 SKU is the whole product.
What it does not include is the rest of the series. Melody of Memory is not in the bundle, the mobile entries are not in it, and Kingdom Hearts IV — announced for Switch 2 at the same June 2026 Nintendo Direct — is a separate future purchase. If you have seen the phrase “I~III” and assumed it means every numbered game, it means the first three numbered games and the side stories that sit between them.

Two of those six are films rather than games, which is the detail most “ten games for $74.99” write-ups skip. 358/2 Days and Re:coded are HD cutscene compilations: you watch them, you do not play them. Counting honestly, the Collection contains seven playable games and three pieces of watchable story.

Why the Steam bundle is not quite the same purchase
It is the same content, not the same product. The Steam versions launched on 13 June 2024 and are the 2024 PC ports; the Collection is a 2026 re-release built for current consoles, and Square Enix has not published a feature comparison between them. The Steam route also cannot put these games on a Switch 2, a PS5 or an Xbox, and it comes with Steam’s own exclusive Keyblade rather than your console’s. What it does have is a $45 price gap, an installed base of two years of patches, and the ability to be bought this afternoon instead of in October.
The PS4 route, and why it saves less than it looks
The KINGDOM HEARTS All-In-One Package on PS4 is $39.99 right now, down 60% from $99.99, and it carries a 4.63 out of 5 average from 34,690 ratings — so it looks like the bargain of the page. Read the contents and it thins out. The package includes HD 1.5+2.5 ReMIX, HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue and KINGDOM HEARTS III, but not Re Mind, which is sold separately at $29.99. Matching the new bundle’s contents therefore costs $69.98 and leaves you playing PS4 builds on a PS5 through backwards compatibility. Against $74.99 for native PS5 versions and a Keyblade, a $5 saving is not much of an argument — and the discount expires on 24 September, two days from now.

One oddity worth flagging, because it changes how much weight to put on these: “Midnight Blue” is not a new item. The PlayStation Store still sells a KINGDOM HEARTS III ‘Midnight Blue’ Keyblade add-on for PS4 at $2.99, alongside a ‘Dawn Till Dusk’ Keyblade at the same price. So the PS5 exclusive is a cosmetic that has had a $2.99 price tag on the same storefront for years. Treat all four as flavour, not as a reason to pick a platform.

We added those up ourselves because the Collection’s own bundle page does not publish a size — Nintendo puts the figures on the three individual listings instead, and its pre-order pages carry the standard warning that download sizes may not be final. The result is the most practical fact on this page: one purchase fills roughly half of a brand-new Switch 2’s 256 GB of internal storage. If you are buying on Switch 2 and you do not already have a microSD Express card, budget for one in the same order.
PC is worse. Steam’s three store pages ask for 60 GB, 35 GB and 75 GB, which is 170 GB for the same content — the price of higher-resolution assets and no console-side compression. Sony and Microsoft had published no size on their listings when we checked.

These are 2012-era CPUs and 2014-era graphics cards. Nothing in this collection will trouble a modern PC, and the only real requirement is the 170 GB of free space.
Which platform should you buy it on?
Steam (INTEGRUM MASTERPIECE, $29.99)
The same three collections, including Re Mind, for $45 less than the new bundle — until 1 October. Unless you specifically need these games on a console, this is the purchase. The catch is the deadline, not the product.

Every price, date, file size and Keyblade name above was read directly from the publisher or the storefront on 22 September 2026, with each store set to the United States. Steam’s US pricing was confirmed against its own store API as well as the page. Where a storefront had published nothing — a PS5 or Xbox download size, specs for the Microsoft Store build, a Nintendo size for the bundle itself — we have said so rather than estimating. We found no listing for the new Collection on Steam or the Epic Games Store, which matches Square Enix listing PC availability as the Microsoft Store only.
