5,000 Stubs: the pack you should skip
The 5,000 pack is $4.99. Five 1,000 packs are $4.95 — the same Stubs for $0.04 less, at the cost of 4 extra checkouts. Per 1,000 Stubs the 5,000 pack (99.8¢) is the worst on the menu.

This MLB The Show Stubs calculator converts Stubs to US dollars and back, finds the cheapest mix of packs for any Diamond Dynasty card or amount, and shows what the one-time 7,500-Stub offer saves. The short answer for MLB The Show 26: there are 6 repeatable Stubs packs, from 1,000 Stubs for $0.99 to 150,000 Stubs for $99.99, at the same prices on PlayStation and Xbox; 1,000 Stubs cost between 66.7¢ and 99.8¢; and the 5,000 pack is a trap — five 1,000 packs cost less.

The 5,000 pack is $4.99. Five 1,000 packs are $4.95 — the same Stubs for $0.04 less, at the cost of 4 extra checkouts. Per 1,000 Stubs the 5,000 pack (99.8¢) is the worst on the menu.
Cheapest: 1 × 11,000 + 9 × 1,000 for $18.90 (20,000 Stubs, 10 purchases). One 24,000 pack is $19.99: $1.09 more, but 4,000 extra Stubs in a single checkout — the calculator shows both.
Sell a duplicate for 5,000 first and, after the 10% fee, 4,500 land in your balance (our assumption about how the fee is applied). That leaves 17,500 Stubs to buy: 1 × 11,000 + 7 × 1,000 for $16.92 (18,000 Stubs, 8 purchases). With the one-time offer still open it drops to $12.89.
Packs only: 1 × 67,500 + 1 × 24,000 + 9 × 1,000 for $78.89 (100,500 Stubs, 11 purchases), or 1 × 67,500 + 1 × 24,000 + 1 × 5,000 + 4 × 1,000 for $78.93 (100,500 Stubs, 7 purchases). Adding the 7,500 offer: 1 × 67,500 + 1 × 24,000 + 1 × 1,000 + the 7,500 offer for $73.96 (100,000 Stubs, 4 purchases) — $4.93 less.
Above 150,000 the best pack does the heavy lifting: 1 × 150,000 + 2 × 24,000 + 2 × 1,000 for $141.95 (200,000 Stubs, 5 purchases), 71¢ per 1,000. Two 150,000 packs would be $199.98.
$20 buys 24,000 Stubs (1 × 24,000). If the special offer is still on your account, 1 × 11,000 + 1 × 5,000 + 2 × 1,000 + the 7,500 offer gives 25,500 Stubs for $19.95 — 6.3% more.
The Deluxe costs $10.00 more on the US PlayStation Store and lists 20,000 Stubs. Bought in packs, that is 1 × 11,000 + 9 × 1,000 for $18.90 (20,000 Stubs, 10 purchases). If you were going to buy Stubs anyway, the upgrade is the cheaper route.
It cost between $33.33 (at the 150,000-pack rate) and $49.90 (at the 5,000-pack rate) to buy. That is a purchase cost, not a cash value: Stubs cannot be cashed out and do not move to next year’s game. (50,000 is our example.)
We read every price in this tool on 18 October 2026. A search for “stubs mlb the show 26” on the US PlayStation Store returned the Stubs listings for four yearly editions; the MLB The Show 26 ones sit under product code PPSA30630, and we opened each of its seven Stubs listings. Their titles read “Stubs™ (24,000) for MLB® The Show™ 26” and so on, and the data behind each page carries the base price in USD — none was on sale.
We work from Poland, so to rule out local pricing we asked Microsoft’s store catalogue for the same packs with the market set to US. All six repeatable packs came back as Consumable products at the same prices to the cent, and the 7,500-Stub “Special Offer” as a Durable product — Microsoft’s label for something you buy once — at $2.99. The PlayStation listing calls it a “Special one-time purchase offer”.
What surprised us: the 5,000 pack costs more per Stub than the 1,000 pack (99.8¢ against 99¢ per 1,000), so it never wins on price. And the Digital Deluxe Edition, at $10.00 over the Standard, lists 20,000 Stubs that would cost $18.90 on their own.
What we could not check: Stubs prices in the Nintendo eShop, any country other than the US (MLB The Show Support says Stubs are not sold in Australia at all), and Marketplace card prices, which players set and which change by the minute. We did not buy anything.
$0.99 in the US for one 1,000 pack — the smallest Stubs pack on PlayStation and Xbox. Valued at the best pack rate (the 150,000 pack), 1,000 Stubs cost $0.67; the one-time 7,500 offer works out to 39.9¢ per 1,000.
In the US, before sales tax: 1,000 Stubs for $0.99, 5,000 Stubs for $4.99, 11,000 Stubs for $9.99, 24,000 Stubs for $19.99, 67,500 Stubs for $49.99, 150,000 Stubs for $99.99. Both the US PlayStation Store and Microsoft’s US catalogue listed all 6 at these prices on 18 October 2026, plus a 7,500-Stub special offer for $2.99 that each account can buy once.
$9.90 as 10 × 1,000, or $9.99 for one 11,000 pack, which gives 1,000 more Stubs in one checkout. If you have not bought the special offer yet, 3 × 1,000 + the 7,500 offer gets you 10,500 Stubs for $5.96.
The 150,000 pack at $99.99: 66.7¢ per 1,000 Stubs, or 1,500.2 Stubs per dollar. The worst is the 5,000 pack at 99.8¢ — 49.7% more per Stub, and even a little worse than the 1,000 pack (99¢). The one-time 7,500 offer beats every pack at 39.9¢ per 1,000.
No — 5,000 Stubs cost $4.95 as 5 × 1,000 against $4.99 for the 5,000 pack, and the 7,500 offer gives more Stubs for $2.99 if you still have it. The pack only saves checkouts.
$10 buys 11,000 Stubs (1 × 11,000); $20 buys 24,000 Stubs (1 × 24,000); $50 buys 67,500 Stubs (1 × 67,500); $100 buys 150,000 Stubs (1 × 150,000). The same on PlayStation and Xbox; the one-time offer adds more on small budgets.
On the US PlayStation Store the Digital Deluxe Edition was $59.99 and the Standard Edition $49.99. The Deluxe lists 20,000 Stubs among its extras; buying that many Stubs in packs costs $18.90 (1 × 11,000 + 9 × 1,000), so the $10.00 difference is covered by the Stubs alone — the card packs and bat skin come on top.
Purchased Stubs are not. MLB The Show Support says Stubs bought in The Show Shop are locked to that console — Stubs bought on a PlayStation 5 cannot be used on an Xbox Series X — even with cross-progression linked. Stubs you earn by playing can be used on any linked console, and only one console’s progress can be carried into cross-progression.
No. MLB The Show Support says progress in Diamond Dynasty, Franchise, Road to the Show and March to October does not carry over to a new yearly edition, and cloud saves only work within the same edition. Stubs belong to Diamond Dynasty, so treat a purchase as MLB The Show 26 only.
MLB The Show Support lists a 10% transaction fee on Marketplace sales. The calculator assumes it comes out of the sale and rounds down, so a card sold for 5,000 Stubs leaves 4,500. Bronze cards have a 25-Stub minimum buy/sell price.

Published 18 October 2026: figures checked against the 7 MLB The Show 26 Stubs listings and two edition listings on the US PlayStation Store, Microsoft’s catalogue (market=US) for the six Xbox packs and the one-time offer, and 6 MLB The Show Support articles.
