The Wolf Among Us Remastered release date is Thursday 29 October 2026, and both console stores pin the unlock to 13:00 UTC — 9 AM in New York, 1 PM in London. It is coming to PS5, Xbox and PC via Steam and Epic, with all five episodes of Telltale’s 2013 noir thriller and a new black-and-white Noir Mode. Twelve days out, no store shows a price yet.

We don’t sell the remaster itself, but you can line up the store credit now: a $20 Steam gift card or a $25 Xbox gift card goes straight into your wallet balance, and a $50 Steam card gives you headroom if the price lands higher, with room for something else from the wishlist.

Telltale revealed the 29 October date around Gamescom in August, after first announcing the remaster at Summer Game Fest. The stores have since filled in the hour. The US PlayStation Store’s page data carries a release timestamp of 2026-10-29T13:00:00Z, and Microsoft’s US catalogue lists exactly the same moment as the Xbox version’s original release date, with its pre-launch availability window closing at 12:59:59 UTC. Steam shows 29 October without a time; Telltale has not said whether PC unlocks at the same minute, so treat 13:00 UTC as the console time only.

Release time in your time zone

The 13:00 UTC console unlock converted to local time on 29 October 2026. Europe will already be on winter time (clocks change on 25 October); the US changes on 1 November, so it is still on daylight time.

Switch is the open question. The co-publisher PM Studios lists Nintendo Switch on its page for the game, and some outlets add Switch 2, but when we searched both the US and European Nintendo eShops on 17 October there was no listing for the remaster at all — not even a wishlist page. That usually means a Switch release is either not dated yet or not on the same day, so do not count on playing it on a Nintendo console on 29 October.

Why the Xbox version is an Xbox One build

Microsoft’s catalogue entry for the game says it is optimised for the Xbox One generation (“ConsoleGen8”) and compatible with both Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S, which is why PM Studios lists “Xbox One” rather than Series X|S. In practice it means one purchase plays on any Xbox from the last 13 years, with the 4K flag set for consoles that support it. The package is 11,805,429,760 bytes — 11.8 GB, or 11.0 GiB as your console will report it.

The Wolf Among Us Remastered price

For context, the original The Wolf Among Us still sells for $14.99 on Steam and on the US PlayStation Store (PS4), unchanged on the day we checked. No store page or announcement we read mentions an upgrade path or a discount for owners of the original, and there is only one edition of the remaster listed on each store — no Deluxe tier and no pre-order bonus.

Quick answers

When does The Wolf Among Us Remastered come out?
The Wolf Among Us Remastered comes out on Thursday 29 October 2026. The PlayStation Store and Microsoft’s Xbox catalogue both set the unlock at 13:00 UTC, which is 9 AM EDT, 6 AM PDT and 1 PM in London.
How much is The Wolf Among Us Remastered?
Telltale has not announced a price. On 17 October 2026 the PlayStation Store showed only a wishlist button, Xbox showed a $0 placeholder and Steam showed no price. The original game sells for $14.99.
Is The Wolf Among Us Remastered coming to Switch?
PM Studios lists Nintendo Switch for the remaster, but there was no Nintendo eShop listing in the US or Europe on 17 October 2026, so a Switch version has no confirmed date yet.
Is The Wolf Among Us Remastered on Xbox One?
Yes. Microsoft’s catalogue lists it as an Xbox One–optimised game that is also compatible with Xbox Series X|S, so one purchase covers both generations. The download is 11.8 GB.
Is The Wolf Among Us Remastered on Game Pass?
Not as announced. The Xbox store page we checked on 17 October 2026 offered only a wishlist button with no Game Pass badge, and Telltale has not announced it for the service.
What is Noir Mode in The Wolf Among Us Remastered?
Noir Mode is a new option that plays the whole story in black and white, like a classic detective film. Telltale says you can switch between it and the remastered colour look at any time.

What the remaster adds: Noir Mode and more

“Experience the all-new Noir Mode, which lets you play the entire story in a striking black-and-white presentation inspired by classic noir cinema.”

— Telltale, Steam store description for The Wolf Among Us Remastered

According to the Steam store description, the remaster is the complete five-episode season in one package, with:

  • Noir Mode — the full story in black and white, toggled “with one tap” at any time.
  • Enhanced visuals — improved lighting, updated animation and refined environments.
  • Bonus material — developer commentary, concept art, interviews, “restored content” and other archive material about how the game was made.
  • Achievements, Steam Cloud, full controller support and Family Sharing on PC; cloud saves and achievements on Xbox.

Steam lists full audio in English only, with interface text in French, German and Latin American Spanish as well — the same four languages Xbox counts. The game carries an ESRB Mature 17+ rating on both console stores. Telltale has not said whether the “restored content” is cut story material or behind-the-scenes extras; we would read it as the latter until it says otherwise.

PC requirements and download size

These are modest specs: the minimum CPU is from 2007, and the recommended GPU is a 2016 card. Steam has not published a storage figure, so the best guide is Microsoft’s 11.8 GB Xbox package. On a slow connection, our game download time calculator tells you how long 11.8 GB will take, so you know whether to start the moment it unlocks.

What about The Wolf Among Us 2?

The sequel is still coming. When the remaster’s date was revealed, Game Informer reported that The Wolf Among Us 2 is due “next year”, i.e. 2027, with no date yet. Its Xbox store page already exists as a separate product, so the remaster is not a bundle with the sequel — they are two purchases.

Pre-order, wait, or play the original?

Switch player

4.0/10

Hold off. There is no eShop listing, so there is no date to plan around.

Pros
  • Switch is on the publisher’s platform list
Cons
  • No eShop page in the US or Europe on 17 October

If you like the detective side of it, three story-driven PC games we stock fit the same mood: Disco Elysium – The Final Cut (another hard-boiled detective who is mostly a mess), Heavy Rain and Detroit: Become Human, both built on the same “every choice has consequences” idea. Our October 2026 release list has the rest of the month.

Sources & how we checked this

We read every date, size and spec ourselves on 17 October 2026, between 02:05 and 02:30 UTC, with stores set to the United States. The release time is from the PlayStation Store page data and Microsoft’s US display catalogue; Steam data from Steam’s store API; time-zone conversions are ours. A price that isn’t public is marked as such, not estimated.

How we work is set out in our editorial policy. Paying with store credit? See our Steam gift card guide or how to redeem an Xbox gift card and check the balance. We will update this page with the price, the PC unlock time and the first reviews on launch day.
