The Hell Let Loose: Vietnam price is $39.99 for the Standard Edition and $59.99 for the Deluxe Edition (£34.99 / £54.99, €39.99 / €59.99) on Steam, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. It has been out since 13 August 2026. It is a separate, standalone game, so owning the original Hell Let Loose does not get you Vietnam for free. On Steam, owners get 5% off through the official bundle.
We stock the PC version as a Steam key: the Hell Let Loose: Vietnam Deluxe Edition Steam key was in stock with instant delivery when we checked on 24 September. Below is every price we could see that day, what the Deluxe Edition actually adds, the PC specs, how cross-play works, and what Steam reviewers are saying six weeks after launch.
| Store | Standard Edition | Deluxe Edition | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Steam (PC) | $39.99 · £34.99 · €39.99 | $59.99 · £54.99 · €59.99 | No discount; HLL + Vietnam bundle gives 5% off |
| PlayStation Store (PS5) | $35.99 (10% off $39.99) | $59.99 | Sale ends 8 Oct 2026, 06:59 UTC; PS Plus needed to play online |
| Xbox Store (Series X|S + PC) | $35.99 (10% off $39.99) | $53.99 (10% off $59.99) | Xbox Play Anywhere; sale shown as ending within 5 days |
| Epic Games Store / Microsoft Store (PC) | Available | Available | Confirmed by Team17; we did not check these prices |
| Virtwave (Steam key) | No live offer on 24 Sept | In stock, instant delivery | Price shown in your local currency, checked live |

Hell Let Loose: Vietnam price on every store
Team17 set the prices when pre-orders opened in May: £34.99 / $39.99 / €39.99 for the Standard Edition and £54.99 / $59.99 / €59.99 for the Deluxe Edition. Six weeks after launch, those are still the full prices everywhere. When we opened Steam’s US, UK and German stores on 24 September, all three matched the launch prices with no discount.
The console sale running now
The consoles have the first discount. On the US PlayStation Store the Standard Edition was $35.99, down 10% from $39.99, with the offer ending 8 October 2026 at 06:59 UTC. The store’s “lowest price in last 30 days” line read $39.99, so it had not been cheaper in the previous 30 days. The PS5 Deluxe Edition stayed at $59.99. The Xbox store had both editions at 10% off, $35.99 and $53.99, and showed the sale ending within five days. One Xbox purchase covers the Series X|S and Windows versions through Xbox Play Anywhere.

Buying the Steam key from Virtwave
In our store, the Hell Let Loose: Vietnam Deluxe Edition is sold as an official Team17 Steam key and delivered on screen and by email as soon as you pay. It is PC only. You redeem it on Steam, and it does not work on PS5 or Xbox. The Standard Edition has a page in our catalogue too, but it had no live offer when we checked on 24 September, so the Deluxe key is the one you can buy from us right now.
The “ROW” in the product address is the supplier’s region code, short for “rest of world”. It is a regional key, licensed for a list of countries, not a worldwide one. You don’t have to work out whether your country is on that list: the product page checks where you are and shows a line such as “Can be activated in Poland” before you pay. We only sell a key in countries where it activates. Prices are checked live and shown in your currency. When we loaded the page from Poland on 24 September it showed 229.16 PLN. Our guide to region locks covers why keys and cards are tied to countries, and our walkthrough for activating a product key on Steam shows the redemption screen.

If you would rather buy on Steam directly with wallet credit, a $50 US Steam gift card covers the $39.99 Standard Edition. For the $59.99 Deluxe, add a $20 Steam card. Wallet codes only work on a Steam account set to the same currency region.
What the Hell Let Loose: Vietnam Deluxe Edition includes
The extra $20 buys the Hell Let Loose: Vietnam 2026 Field Supplies, a pack of three uniform sets. Steam also sells it on its own for $26.99. Team17’s pre-order announcement calls the two later drops the “ANZAC & NVA Uniform Pack” and the “Green Berets & Navy SEALs Uniform Pack”. So as described, this is cosmetic personalisation, not extra maps or weapons. When we looked at the game’s DLC on Steam on 24 September, four items were listed: the Field Supplies pack ($26.99), the NVA Boat Crew Uniform ($2.49), the US Army Boat Crew Uniform ($2.49) and a free Helicopter Survival Vest & SPH-4 Patriot set added on 16 September. There was no separate ANZAC & NVA item yet, with Q3 ending on 30 September.
Is the Deluxe Edition worth the extra $20?
Is Hell Let Loose: Vietnam free for Hell Let Loose owners?
“A brand-new standalone entry in the Hell Let Loose franchise.”
— Hell Let Loose official FAQ, Team17 / Expression Games, answering whether Vietnam is an expansion or a sequel
No. Hell Let Loose: Vietnam is a separate game with its own Steam app, and nothing on any official page gives owners of the 2019 game a free copy. Team17’s FAQ says it is neither a sequel nor an expansion of the original. The developers made it a separate title so they could rebuild core systems in Unreal Engine 5. The FAQ also says you do not need to have played the original, and that Expression Games built a second team so both games keep getting updates.
The only price break for owners we found is on Steam. The official Hell Let Loose + Hell Let Loose: Vietnam bundle has a 5% bundle discount, and Steam’s bundle rules let you “complete the set”, paying only for the items you don’t own while keeping the discount. If you own the original on Steam, that works out to about $37.99 for Vietnam instead of $39.99. The PlayStation and Xbox listings we checked showed no owner discount.
If you are new to both, now is a good time: the original was 75% off on Steam ($12.49, ending 1 October), which made the two-game bundle $49.86. We stock the original as Steam keys too: Hell Let Loose, the Hell Let Loose Deluxe Edition and the Hell Let Loose Ultimate Edition. They are separate games from Vietnam, and none of their content carries over.
Hell Let Loose: Vietnam release date, platforms and cross-play
Hell Let Loose: Vietnam launched on Thursday 13 August 2026 on PC (Steam, Epic Games Store and Microsoft Store), PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. It was first dated for 18 June. On 2 June, after an open beta that Team17 says drew more than 350,000 players, the publisher moved it to 13 August to work on performance and stability. Team17’s pre-launch post put the PS5 launch build online at 4 PM BST, one hour before launch, which makes the release time 5 PM BST (16:00 UTC). Steam and Epic had no pre-download. The same May announcement also confirmed boxed editions for PS5 and Xbox Series X.
PS5 and Xbox Series X|S
Both console versions are online only, so you need your platform’s subscription to play. The PlayStation Store says “PS Plus required for online play”. The Xbox listing says console play needs an online multiplayer subscription and names Game Pass Core or Ultimate. The game is not in the Game Pass catalogue: Xbox lists it as cloud-playable with Game Pass Essential, Premium or Ultimate, but a purchase is still required. There is no PS4 or Xbox One version. Team17 lists only PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC.
How cross-play works
Cross-play has been in since launch. Team17’s FAQ says Vietnam has full cross-play between PC and consoles, including between PC storefronts. The crossplay update explains how it works: servers are tagged as cross-platform, PC only or console only, and server owners choose which platforms can join. So PS5, Xbox and PC players can play together, and console players who don’t want to face mouse-and-keyboard players can stick to console-only servers.
Hell Let Loose: Vietnam PC requirements
| Minimum | Recommended | |
|---|---|---|
| OS | Windows 10 64-bit | Windows 11 64-bit |
| Processor | Intel Core i5-10600K / AMD Ryzen 5 3600X | Intel Core i5-12600K / AMD Ryzen 5 7600X |
| Memory | 16 GB RAM | 16 GB RAM |
| Graphics | NVIDIA RTX 2060 Super / AMD Radeon RX 6600 XT | NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Ti / AMD Radeon RX 6900 XT |
| DirectX | Version 12 | Version 12 |
| Storage | 30 GB | 30 GB |
| Target | 1080p / 60 fps, TSR 71% or DLSS Ultra Performance | 1080p / 60 fps, TSR 100% High or DLSS Balanced |
These are demanding specs for 1080p. The minimum tier needs 16 GB of RAM and an RTX 2060 Super-class card, and even then it hits 60 fps only with upscaling. AMD owners should know that FSR was not in the game at launch. Team17’s pre-launch blog said FSR 4.1 was implemented but still being tested. Its launch-day notes suggested adding -dx12 to the Steam launch options as a workaround for AMD crashes, and a dedicated AMD hotfix followed on 4 September. The PC version uses Easy Anti-Cheat and supports controllers. Steam also lists it as eligible for Family Sharing, which our guide to Steam family limits explains.
Maps, factions, roles and modes at launch
| Map | Based on |
|---|---|
| Thanh Hóa Bridge | Operation Rolling Thunder, 1965–68 — the “Dragon’s Jaw” bridge |
| Huế Outskirts | Tet Offensive, January 1968 |
| Vạn Tường | Operation Starlite, August 1965 |
| Quảng Ngãi | Operation Piranha, September 1965 |
| Đắk Tô Airfield | Battle of Đắk Tô, November 1967 |
| Cam Ranh Port | Cam Ranh Bay Logistics Facility, sapper attack of August 1969 |
Each match is 50 vs 50, with the US Armed Forces against the North Vietnamese Army. The Steam page lists 17 roles across six units: Command, Infantry, Recon, Armour, Mortar Squad, and a Helicopter unit that only the US side has. The new features are helicopters for the US, patrol boats for both sides, and tunnel networks that NVA players can build. The launch post lists four game modes: Warfare and Offensive from the original, plus two new ones, Conquest and Domination. Conquest uses a morale system that runs down each time a player redeploys. Domination makes both teams fight over three central points before either HQ can be attacked. The Deluxe Edition store text, which our product page repeats, mentions “6 distinct gameplay modes”. The developer’s own launch post names four, and we go with that.
What the 2026 roadmap adds
The 2026 roadmap was posted to Steam on 21 August. Update 1.5 went live on 16 September with an officially licensed Bell UH-1 “Huey” replacing the fictional helicopter, the M14 and Type 56 SKS rifles, a first weapon-balance pass and 100+ fixes. Update 2.0 adds the first new map, Khe Sanh, and brings ANZAC forces into a renamed “US & Allies” faction with the L1A1 SLR, F1 SMG and L16A1 mortar. Update 3.0 adds a second map, Rung Sat, APCs for both sides and four more weapons, along with Navy SEALs and Green Berets. A clan system called Battalions is also planned. The roadmap post gives no dates for 2.0 and 3.0.
Hell Let Loose: Vietnam reviews on Steam
| Where | Rating | Based on |
|---|---|---|
| Steam — recent (last 30 days) | Mixed · 64% positive | 2,310 reviews |
| Steam — English reviews | Mixed · 62% positive | 8,588 reviews |
| Steam — all languages | Mixed · 7,656 of 12,409 positive (62%) | 12,409 reviews |
| PlayStation Store (US) | 3.19 / 5 stars | 4.9K ratings |
| Original Hell Let Loose on Steam, for comparison | 83% positive (English) | 62,825 reviews |
When we opened the Steam page on 24 September, both the recent and English-language summaries read “Mixed”. Recent reviews were slightly better than the overall figure, which usually means patches are winning some players back. The launch was busy: Team17’s launch-day notes said the game hit almost three times the original’s all-time peak of concurrent players, and it had to add official servers in every region. Since then it has shipped Patch 1.2 (which Team17 says had 500+ fixes), 1.3, 1.4, the AMD hotfix, Update 1.5 and Hotfix 1.5.1 on 22 September. The original Hell Let Loose, around since 2019, sits at 83% positive. Vietnam is not there yet, so it’s worth reading the recent Steam reviews before you buy.

Standard or Deluxe: our take
Standard Edition — $39.99
Everything that affects play is in the Standard Edition, and all new maps, weapons and vehicles on the roadmap come as updates. On PS5 and Xbox it is $35.99 until the current sales end.
- Full game at a lower-than-usual price
- 10% off on PS5 and Xbox right now
- You can add the $26.99 uniform pack later
- No owner discount outside the Steam bundle
- Online subscription needed on console
Deluxe Edition — $59.99
It saves $6.99 compared with buying the uniform pack separately, but all three items are cosmetic and two are still to come. Our score rates the value of the edition, not the game, which we have not reviewed.
- Cheaper than Standard + Field Supplies bought separately
- Available from us as an instant Steam key
- Cosmetic only
- ANZAC & NVA and Green Berets & Navy SEALs packs not delivered yet
