The Beast of Reincarnation Deluxe Edition costs $69.99, $10 more than the $59.99 Standard Edition, and every extra is cosmetic or a resource boost: two Shiba skins for Koo, a hat and a sword for Emma, 100,000 Amber and some vegetable seedlings. There is no extra story. Standard owners can add the same content later with a $9.99 Deluxe upgrade. Game Freak’s action RPG has been out since 4 August 2026 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC, and it is included in Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass.

We stock the PC version as a Steam key: the Beast of Reincarnation Deluxe Edition Steam key is in stock with instant delivery. Below are the prices we saw on every storefront on 24 September, including two sales that end soon, plus the PC specs, Steam Deck status, how long the game takes to finish and how its launch went.

When we switched Steam to other regions the same day, the full prices were £49.99 and £57.99 in the UK, €54.99 and €63.99 in Germany, 189.99 and 219.99 AED in the UAE, and 199,99 and 229,99 zł in Poland, all with the same 20% off until 1 October. On Xbox, a digital purchase includes Xbox Play Anywhere, so one copy covers the Series X|S and Xbox PC versions. The PlayStation listing adds a PS5 Pro Enhanced badge.

Is the Deluxe Edition worth the extra $10?

For most players, no, and you don’t have to decide now. Nothing in the Deluxe Edition changes the story or adds areas. The one practical item is the 100,000 Amber, the in-game currency, which helps most in the opening hours when money is tight. Its value drops quickly once you start earning Amber yourself. The skins, the hat and the Big Dipper sword are the main reason to buy it. Because the $9.99 upgrade gives Standard owners exactly the same content, the safer route is to buy the Standard Edition, play a few hours and upgrade later if you want the cosmetics. The only case for buying the Deluxe Edition straight away is if you already know you want the extras, since buying it in one go costs the same $10.

The Deluxe Edition key in our store

Our store sells the Deluxe Edition as a Steam key, published by Fictions. The page address still contains “preorder” because we listed it before launch, but it is the finished game and has been available since launch. When we opened the page from Poland on 24 September, it showed 229.99 PLN, in stock with instant delivery, and a green “Can be activated in Poland” check. That is the same as Steam’s full Polish price for the Deluxe Edition. While Steam’s sale runs until 1 October, Steam is cheaper (183,99 zł when we checked), so if you are buying before then, compare the two prices first.

The “row” at the end of the page address is the supplier’s region label for this key, not a promise that it works in every country. The product page does not print a list of countries. Instead, it checks the country you are browsing from and only offers the key where it can be activated, so look for the “Can be activated in …” line showing your country before you pay. Once you have the key, activate it in Steam from Games → Activate a Product on Steam. Our guide to activating a game on Steam with a product key covers the errors you might see. If you would rather pay with wallet credit, a $50 US Steam gift card covers the sale price of the Standard Edition, and a $10 US Steam gift card covers the Deluxe upgrade.

Beast of Reincarnation release date and platforms

Platforms and dates as listed by each storefront on 24 September 2026. No Nintendo version has been announced.

The game launched at the same moment everywhere. Before launch, Fictions and Game Freak confirmed on Steam that it would unlock at 00:00 UTC on 4 August 2026. That was 5 PM Pacific on Monday 3 August in the US, 1 AM in London, 4 AM in Dubai and 9 AM in Tokyo on 4 August. This is why Steam lists 3 August and the console stores list 4 August. The game shipped at version 1.0.6. Standard owners could buy a Deluxe upgrade from day one, according to the launch-day announcement. Game Freak developed the game and Fictions published it. It was first shown as “Project Bloom” in 2023. It is the studio’s first game on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.

Is Beast of Reincarnation on Game Pass?

Yes. When we opened the Xbox store listing on 24 September, it showed the game as “Included in Ultimate”, and listed PC only (PC Game Pass) and Ultimate under “Included in these subscriptions”. It has been in the service since launch day. Game Pass Essential and Premium do not include it: on those tiers you have to buy the game to stream it through Xbox Cloud Gaming. The PlayStation Store listing we checked sells it outright and shows no PS Plus inclusion.

If you mainly want to finish the story, a month of Game Pass costs much less than buying the game: our Xbox Game Pass Ultimate 1 Month code (US) covers Series X|S, PC and cloud. Our guide to redeeming and stacking Game Pass codes explains how the time adds up if you already subscribe. To buy it on Xbox instead, a $50 US Xbox gift card and a $10 top-up cover the $59.99 Standard Edition.

Beast of Reincarnation PC requirements

Quoted from the Steam store page on 24 September 2026. Both tiers need a 64-bit processor and operating system, and DirectX 12.
MinimumRecommended

Storage45 GB, SSD required45 GB, SSD required

Upscaling is built into both targets. Even the minimum spec reaches 40 fps with DLSS or FSR switched on, so expect to use it. You need an SSD. Fictions said before launch that the first specs it posted had mistakes and that the specs now on the store page are correct, so ignore older copies of the table you may find elsewhere. Several post-launch patches have added PC options: DLSS 4/4.5 and FSR 4 in v1.0.8, frame generation and ultrawide support in v1.0.9, and GPU-aware frame generation settings in v1.0.12. On Steam the game has full controller support and Steam Cloud, and it can be shared through Steam Family Sharing. English and Japanese have full voice acting, and the text is available in 11 languages.

Steam Deck status

Two crops from the Beast of Reincarnation Steam page: recent reviews Mixed (342), English reviews Mixed (1,539), release date Aug 3 2026, developer GAME FREAK inc., publisher Fictions, and Steam Deck compatibility Unsupported
Screenshot: two crops from the same Steam page, the review summary and the Steam Deck compatibility panel, taken 24 September 2026 by Virtwave.

On 24 September the Steam page rated Beast of Reincarnation Unsupported on Steam Deck, and Valve’s compatibility report gives graphics performance as the reason. None of the six post-launch patch notes mentions the Deck. That matches what RPG Site measured at launch: 23–30 fps at 720p on the lowest settings, with the reviewer advising against playing it on the Deck. If you have a Deck and a gaming PC, streaming from the PC is the better option for now. The Xbox listing shows a “Handheld Optimized” badge, but that is Microsoft’s label for Xbox-on-PC handhelds and does not change the Steam Deck rating.

According to HowLongToBeat, Beast of Reincarnation takes about 23 hours to finish the main story, about 28 hours with side content, and about 39½ hours for a completionist run. Times are similar on all three platforms: the main-story average is 23h 33m on PC, 21h 45m on PS5 and 22h 11m on Xbox Series X|S. The completionist figure comes from only 28 submissions, so treat it as a rough guide. One more number from the same page: 5.8% of HowLongToBeat users who logged the game have marked it as retired, meaning they stopped playing.

Metacritic rates it “Mixed or Average” on every platform, with 51% of PS5 critic reviews positive and 48% mixed. Steam’s rating was already “Mixed” in launch week, and recent reviews (64%) are at about the same level as the English lifetime score (63%).

“I’m truly sorry that parts of the game haven’t provided a sufficiently enjoyable experience.”

— Kota Furushima, director of Beast of Reincarnation, Interview with 4Gamer after launch, as translated by Automaton and reported by GamesRadar+

Furushima said some parts of the game still “need polishing”. He also said players had responded well to fighting alongside Koo and to the post-apocalyptic atmosphere, as GamesRadar+ reported. The patch schedule since then shows the team followed up on those problems.
